My new old camera

Today I will write about a new piece of technology that is coming into my life. 

For a while now is that I wanted a camera, because the camera on my phone doesn't take good pictures as it did at first. But what I didn't know was how expensive they are. That's why I put aside the idea of having a digital camera.

But last month my mom called me and told me that we had a camera in the house in the bottom of some forgotten drawer. So, the first thing that I did when I arrived La Serena was search for that lost camera, after a lot of searching I found it. It was a Sony camera, model Cybershot. 

The camera had no charging cable and the battery was empty so I was unable to use it for several days. Then I got a charging cable from a friend but it didn't work because the input was broken. Then, my boyfriend gave me a battery charger and I was finally able to turn it on.

I have this camera for a short time and I still have no idea how to use it well, because it has many options and I only use the mode "Fácil automático" and I feel that I can't take advantage of the benefits that it has

I hope to learn how to use it soon, anyway here are a pictures I took yesterday in Quintay, Valparaiso region.

My song of the moment

I usually have a song "of the moment". A song that I obsess over a week or two. Now, my song of the moment is "Trasatlántico" by Daniela Spalla. A indie lationamerican song with a lively beat but very melancholic touches. A heartbreak song, with sad lyrics but not depressing rhythms (which are my favorite). I heard this song for the first time in the fall of 2022 and it was with this song that I met this artist and since then it has become one of my favorites. This kind of melancholic heartbreak songs with a female voice are definitely my favorite style of music, even if my love situation is excellent.

Fiestas Patrias

For me the Fiestas Patrias began on friday, September 13th. That day I arrived in Coquimbo, my city of birth. My boyfriend greeted me at the bus terminal with flowers and from there we went straight to a friends house for the first "carrete" of fiestas patrias.

That first day was really exhausting, in the morning i had a test, then i went directly to the bus terminal, and after 7 hours on the road i arrived to a "carrete". Because of that I rested for the rest of the weekend.

The rest of the days were more relaxing. I went to la Pampilla with my family and we bougth a lot of little silly things. It was super fun, I missed doing those things with my family.

Saddly, I couldn't see my other friends, because we couldn't coincide in the times, but we were able to play in call anyway.

The last day was nice and I had mixed feelings, on the one hand I was sad to have to return to Santiago, but on the other hand I was a little excited because I had recovered motivation to continue in the race. That day I went to the Fuerte Coquimbo with my boyfriend and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of this year.

About my friends

My closets friend in the High School was Sol, but she likes the name of "Fer". I meet her in the Kindergarden, we were not that close at that time, but we played a lot in the breaks.

She is just like me, sometimes she doesn't talk a lot but, we have deep conversations about our feelings and situations in our lives. She listens to me and i listen to her. 

One of the things that we enjoy the most is playing videogames with our other friend Char, she is also one of the my closest friend. We play in Discord call games like: Minecraft, Plato and recently LOL. All of us are really bad, but we have so much fun.

Saddly I can´t see them a lot in real life because I came to study in Santiago and they study in La Serena. But anyway, I see them every 1-2 months.

My 5 faves

📻 It is hard to choose a favourite song, since I am a great lover of music. But if I had to choose one, it would probably be “Bailando Lentos” by Bándalos Chinos and Daniela Spalla, being these some of my favorite artists. This song is so inspiring and has such a melancholic touch that I love it.

🎥 My favourite movie it is definitely Fantasía by Disney. I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid, every time I came home from school I would religiously put it on the DVD. This is a movie of classical music and typical Disney animation.

💻My favorite piece of technology is my notebook. It's not the best, not the latest, not the fastest. But it has been there for me when I need it most. Especially when I want to unwind and play something alone or sometimes with friends.

📖 I am not a person who reads book a lot. I usually read academic texts and articles related with Geography. On the other hand, there is a book that I have read several times for inspiration "Sonetos de la Muerte" by Gabriela Mistral. Here I was looking for inspiration to write, since this was one of my hobbies in the past.

🐧 I don't think I'm the type of person who has an attachment to souvenirs and I honestly don't remember any good experience through an object. I probably have some fondness for my collection of stuffed penguins, but the truth is I don't remember where they all are. 

International Day of Friendship
